There are two roll sizes: 24-by30 inches for US$9.95 (wraps two medium-sized presents), and 24by-60 inches for US$16.95 (wraps three medium-sized presents). The design is printed on 60-pound matte paper.
“My wife and I are both graphic artists,” co-founder Aryel Rivero told ABC News, explaining that about eight years ago, on a whim, he MacGyvered a gift wrap emblazoned with his face for his wife’s present. “I printed it out and my wife loved it. We just kind of gave them out as gag gifts.”
Rivero says the possibilities for customization are basically unlimited.
“The majority of photos that people send in are faces. We’ve also had dogs, (former U.S. president Barack) Obama and even Kim Kardashian’s butt,” he said.
“We want to give this a fun vibe. It’s not about what’s in the gift, it’s about the act of giving. When people see this they immediately start smiling.”
