Police make series of arrests in break-ins over weekend
City police credit quick work by patrol officers for a string of arrests in break and enters to three businesses and a school over the weekend.
The latest was at 3:11 a.m. Monday when officers responded to a break and enter to a school on
Bearbrook Road and arrested five boys with the help of a K9 unit. The investigation continued Monday morning.
There were three other breakins resulting in arrests Saturday.
At 1:05 a.m., officers responded to a store on Rideau Street between Colonel By Drive and Nicholas Street, located a suspect and made an arrest. A 27-year-old man is charged with break and enter with intent, mischief to property and failing to comply with a probation order. He was released.
At 10:44 p.m., officers were called to another business on Bank Street downtown and charged a 41-yearold man and 33-year-old woman with break and enter with intent and possession of break and enter tools. They were held in custody with further charges pending, police said.
At 11:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to a break and enter at a Besserer Street business and arrested a 34-year-old man. He is charged with break and enter with intent, mischief to property and
three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
He was released and will appear in court.
