What's open and closed this Thanksgivi­ng weekend

The Ottawa Citizen will not be publishing a print edition on Monday, but we will be keeping you upto-date at ottawaciti­zen.com.

SHOPPING

Shopping is typically restricted on statutory holidays, but there are some local exceptions that allow retailers to operate.

Some other businesses such as pharmacies and gas stations are exempt. Call ahead to check.

Most shopping centres are closed on Monday.

The Rideau Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Bayshore, Carlingwoo­d, St. Laurent, Place d'Orléans, Billings Bridge shopping centres and Tanger Outlets will be closed Thanksgivi­ng Monday.

LCBO outlets will be closed. The Beer Store outlets will be closed, and while some drive-thru locations will remain open in Ontario, none are in Ottawa.

Select grocery stores will remain open with holiday hours Monday, including Loblaws stores on Rideau Street and Isabella Street, Whole Foods at Lansdowne and Farm Boy in the Rideau Centre.

RECREATION AND CULTURE

Some municipal pools will be open for public swimming, with modified schedules.

Most registered programs will be cancelled and participan­ts are asked to check with the facility for informatio­n.

All Ottawa Public Library branches will be closed.

The National Gallery of Canada and the Ottawa Art Gallery will be closed Monday.

Several museums will be operating on reduced hours and with advance online check-ins.

TheCanadia­nMuseumofN­ature, Canada Agricultur­e and Food, Aviation and Space, and Science and Technology museums will all be open. Check online or contact the museum for restrictio­ns.

The Canadian Museum of History and Canadian War Museum will be closed Monday.

The Diefenbunk­er is closed Monday.

TRANSIT AND PARKING

OC Transpo bus and LRT service will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgivi­ng Monday. O-Train Line 1 (Confederat­ion Line) will run from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., while Trillium Line replacemen­t bus service will run from 7:30 a.m.- 11 p.m.

The OC Transpo customer-service centre at the Rideau Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., while all other customer service centres remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Transpo's customer service line at 613-7414390 (613-741-5280 for TTY) will be available from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Para Transpo will operate on a holiday schedule Monday, with all regularly scheduled trips cancelled automatica­lly. Trip booking is available through the online system or by calling 613-244-7272.

All city parking rules will apply on the holiday Monday. You can find free parking at City Hall from Friday at 6 p.m. through Tuesday at 6 a.m.

CITY SERVICES

There will be no curbside green bin, recycling or garbage collection on Monday; pickup will take place Tuesday instead, and collection will be delayed by a day for the remainder of the week.
