RUPAR, Huguette Marie Reine Mai

-

May 8, 1936 - Jul 18, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Huguette (Potvin) Rupar on July 18th 2021 in Chilliwack, British Columbia. Predeceased by her husband of 63 years John, her parents, Leopold and Aurore Potvin, her brothers George and Yvon, her sisters Denise and Gisele, and her half brother Jean Raymond Lavictoire.

She leaves behind her six children and their spouses; Joanne (Jim),

Johnny (Cheryl), Linda, Kathy (Peter), Mike and Peter (Kristine). 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved sister MarieClaire.

Born May 8th 1936 in Sarsfield Ontario, her family soon moved to Clarence Creek where her father ran a cheese factory.

She met the love of her life, John, in Rockland, Ontario. They got married in 1957 and had kids right away. A few years later, they moved their young family to Ottawa. They had six kids in total and then Huguette decided to go back to work once the kids were in school. She started working for Statistics Canada and in a very short time, was a Senior Interviewer. She had many great stories to tell about going out to talk to people in the middle of nowhere in Quebec and Ontario.

Later in life, she and her family moved to Chilliwack, British Columbia where they purchased A1 Automotive and Grocery on Young Road South. Most of her kids worked with the family business and started families of their own.

Our "Nana" was full of love and gave so much for her family. She loved being in the middle of the chaotic family gatherings, always serving food, never sitting down to eat herself. She also had a soft spot for cats. That is an understatement. We will miss her lovely soft touch and the way she would always beat us at cards right up until the end.

We will always have you in our hearts Nan.
