What's open and closed on Easter weekend in Ottawa

For the first time since 2016, the Easter weekend falls during the month of March.

Here's what you need to know about closures across Ottawa from Friday to Monday.

The Ottawa Citizen will not be publishing a paper on Friday, and there will be no e-paper on Monday. Visit us online for breaking news.

CITY OF OTTAWA SERVICES

The 3-1-1 Contact Centre will be open for urgent matters only. Visit ottawa.ca/311 for more informatio­n.

Ottawa City Hall, Ben Franklin Place, 580 Terry Fox Dr., and 255 Centrum Blvd., will be closed for all client services.

There will be no curbside green bin, recycling and garbage collection on Friday and Monday. Friday's pickup will take place on Saturday and Monday's pickup will take place on Tuesday. All other collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

The Trail Road Waste Facility will be open on Friday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, it will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

TRANSIT SERVICES AND PARKING

Standard City of Ottawa parking regulation­s apply for on-street parking and all other paid city-operated parking garages.

OC Transpo bus service and O-train Line 1 will run on Sunday schedules on Friday and on reduced weekday schedules on Monday.

On-demand service in Blackburn Hamlet will be available on Friday and Sunday in place of Route 28. Customers can book same-day or next-day trips between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. with OC Transpo On-demand.

The Rideau Centre OC Transpo Customer Service Centre will be closed on Friday and Sunday. It will be open on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The OC Transpo lost and found will be closed on Friday and Monday. Customers can call 613560-5000 to report or retrieve lost items.

Regular bookings or recurring trips with Para Transpo are automatica­lly cancelled on Friday and Monday. Customers can book trips for Easter weekend by calling 613-560-5000 or using My Para Transpo.

RECREATION AND CULTURAL SERVICES

Some indoor pools, arenas, and recreation and fitness centres will be open or operating on modified schedules. Please check ottawa.ca for details.

All city-operated museums and the Shenkman Arts Centre will be closed on Friday and Monday.

The Nepean Creative Arts Centre and Nepean Visual Arts Centre will be closed from Friday to Monday.

Arts Court will be closed on Monday.

Ottawa Art Gallery will be closed Friday and Monday.

Most other museums will be open all weekend, but check with any facility directly before visiting.

All Ottawa Public Library branches will be closed on Friday, Sunday,and Monday.

OTTAWA PUBLIC HEALTH

The Site Program office and supervised consumptio­n services at 179 Clarence St., will be closed this weekend. The Site mobile van will operate from 5 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The Sexual Health Clinic and satellite clinics will be closed.

Health811 will continue to be available for free, secure, and confidenti­al health advice with a registered nurse. Service is available in English and French.

SHOPPING

All grocery stores, Beer Stores and LCBO outlets in Ottawa will be closed on Friday and Sunday.

The Wine Rack on Wellington Street will be open on Friday and Monday from noon to 8 p.m.

All shopping malls will be closed on Friday, March 29, and Sunday, March 31.
