Harvest time in Canada sure provides plenty of amazing photo ops!

BOUNTIFUL HARVEST

“I am from the Prairies, and here, many people make their living from farming,” writes Allie Smorodin of Saskatoon. “I took this photo in Buchanan, Sask.; it shows the beautiful golden sheaves of wheat that are harvested by my dad every year. Many hours of hard work go into growing this crop, and the satisfaction of harvesting it is a feeling like no other.”

BIG BALES!

“While travelling to Winnipeg last summer, we saw some wheat fields in Manitoba where the bales of wheat were as large as our Boler trailer!” shares

Cheryl Décary of Rockland, Ont., who couldn’t resist taking a pic of the impressive sight!

SUNSET HARVEST

This stunning shot was captured by Raice Szott of Daysland, Alta., who writes, “Wheat harvested at sunset on a beautful night— where will this wheat end up in the world?”

BURST OF BEAUTY

“Being a nature enthusiast who loves the outdoors, I always find myself admiring flowers or sunsets,” writes Alicia Strelkov, of Olds, Alta. “On this day, I got to combine both of my favourite subjects. It didn’t take me long to compose this cool picture as the sun was setting over a sunflower maze that we were visiting in Bowden, Alta.”

A RURAL WORK OF ART

“How much more Canadian can you get than an inukshuk made from hay bales standing beneath the North Star?” asks Steve Pedersen of St. Albert, Alta., who snapped this arresting image. “In Creston, B.C., a creative farmer used hay bales to simulate the rough stones of a traditional inukshuk,” explains Steve.
