THE THREE BEARS
One night, after everyone had gone to bed, we were awakened by a commotion outside. Teddy, our big, outdoor dog gave a low “woof.” The security lights came on and, oh, were we glad that Teddy was in his dog run! Through the kitchen window, we spotted a large, black mama bear and her two cubs. They were busy pulling down and opening all the bird feeders—we could hear the noisy licking, munching and smacking sounds the hungry bears made. After mama and babies had eaten everything, they lumbered slowly o into the darkness. We didn’t see them again but had a hard time going back to sleep after all that excitement!
