This month is your opportunity to “Be An Angel.”

The Penticton Herald’s ninth annual campaign hopes to raise $48,000 for those who need it most in the South OkanaganSimilkameen.

Donations are being accepted on The Herald’s website and at our office throughout the month of December. All donations this year are going to Feed the Valley, which supports all food banks in the region, but funds donated in the South Okanagan stay in the South Okanagan.

Plus, all cash proceeds donated go directly to the program and no administration fee is taken.

Last year’s Be An Angel campaign raised $44,149 in cash donations.

All donors will have their names listed in The Herald on the day following the donation and at the end of the campaign. Donors may remain anonymous if they wish. Traditionally, there are challenges made among professions.

The campaign received an early $710 kickstart from an event staged in October by The Herald’s James Miller and Joe Fries at the Penticton Lakeside Resort. “Our readers and advertisers have always shown tremendous support for Be An Angel, and we’re hoping to receive the same generosity that we have in the past,” said Herald publisher Ed Kennedy.

As per The Herald’s tradition, a front page story will run weekdays giving a better idea of where the money is going and the families that will benefit.

To donate, visit www.pentictonherald.ca or drop by our offices at 101-186 Nanaimo Ave. W. during regular business hours weekdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
