Congratulations to Lieskovskys

-

Dear Editor: Once again I am so impressed with the ingenuity and action of people like Viv, Heather and Dave Lieskovsky, who in this case have created a useful, simple, affordable way to raise funds and awareness for our local homeless (Holiday craft a way to help the homeless, Okanagan Sunday, Dec 4). Being all thumbs myself, I truly admire those who have both creativity and vision!

The wee V2A homes the family are making are perfect to hang on your tree, tuck into Christmas packages being sent far and wide, as stocking stuffers, teacher’s gifts, hostess gifts, and so on. A label on the back notes their purpose, so the beneficiary is aware of how their gift has helped others. Truly the essence of Christmas that we strive for year round!

V2A homes are available at Banks Travel for a minimum donation of $5 to the Salvation Army and earmarked for the homeless. When I popped in today, all of the travel agents were busy serving clients but I quickly spotted the V2A homes on a low table to the left of the room. A donation jar is beside the basket of homes so it is easy to make your selection, put your money in the jar and slip out again without needing to wait for assistance.

I hope the Lieskovsky family has ramped up production as I’m sure these V2A homes will be a big hit! I’m heading back soon for more!
