Holiday miracle: lost ring is found

-

Dear Editor: On Boxing Day I started to visit the stores I had shopped at prior to Christmas and I am very happy to report that the missing wedding band was found at the Marketplace IGA store on Government Street.

This wedding band has been in the family for three generations so it had significant meaning to us, especially considering that next year it is to be passed on to a fourth generation.

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the person who found the ring and to the staff at Marketplace IGA who kept it safe until I inquired about it on Monday.

The honesty displayed by these people truly confirms what editor James Miller said in his editorial on Tuesday, the Christmas spirit is alive in Penticton! Jack Ambler

Penticton

Some forensic investigation is warranted. More than 10,000 signatures ... that's more than the total votes cast in the last municipal elections.

This makes no sense why council is so adamant in moving forward with such an unpopular project. You can draw your own conclusions.

And then there is the rezoning of the future parkland behind the shopping centre, Kinney Ave. to super high density?

More parkland lost. And please don’t use Campbell Mountain as an example of a local park.

Hiring of staff and staff and staff while the population is stagnant is another issue.

Yes, it sure is nice to be able to play with the town's coffers as they wish.

We, (collectively the Penticton voters) will undo this cesspool of nepotism, under the table handshakes, lack of public trust, etc. at the next municipal elections.

Trust me on that one. Georges Jansen Penticton
