Local teams caught up in playoff fever

There’s playoff hockey galore in Penticton this weekend.

A large slate of games are scheduled as playoffs continue in both the Okanagan-Mainline representa­tive leagues and the South-Central recreation­al leagues.

Here’s a look on what’s on tap:

REP

Bantam Tier 2: The regular season-champion Penticton Murray GM Vees open the bestof-3 final against Kamloops on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. at Memorial Arena. Games 2 and 3 are next weekend. The winner advances to provincial­s March 19-23 in Powell River.

Peewee Tier 2: South Okanagan and Merritt meet in the final with Game 1 Saturday in Merritt and Game 2 Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Osoyoos Sun Bowl Arena. Game 3, if necessary, is March 4 in Merritt. The winner advances to provincial­s March 19-23 in Dawson Creek.

Midget Female A: Penticton Vees won Game 1 of the final 4-2 over Kamloops. Game 2 is Saturday at 1 p.m. at Memorial, with Game 3, if necessary, Sunday in Kamloops. Winner goes to provincial­s March 19-23 in Oceanside.

Atom (semifinals): Saturday, Penticton 1 at West Kelowna (Penticton leads best-of-3 series 1-0). Sunday, if necessary, at Penticton 1, 4:15 p.m., McLaren Arena.

Saturday, Penticton 2 at South Okanagan, 3:30 p.m., Sun Bowl Arena (Penticton leads series 1-0). Sunday, if necessary, at Penticton 2, 12:15 p.m., McLaren.
