Brennan Nelson scored twice as the Penticton Murray GM Vees rallied to defeat Kamloops 5-3 and sweep the Okanagan –Mainline Amateur Hockey Associatio­n bantam tier 2 championsh­ip series 2-0.

Jacob Obuck, Levi Carter and Kieran Simpson also scored for the Vees, who rallied from an early 2-0 deficit.

The Vees lost two players to injury but have two weeks to recover before representi­ng OMAHA at the provincial championsh­ips March 18-22 in Powell River.

The Vees, who also won the OMAHA regular season title, beat Kamloops 7-2

Alex Gulstene of Vancouver made 29 saves as the Okanagan Hockey Academy captured the 2016-17 Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) Female Prep Division Championsh­ip with a 3-1 win over the Pursuit of Excellence on Sunday.

Scott Shearer, Curtis Melien, Kyle Chomsky and Todd Prokopchuk each had a goal, and Patty Murphy was stellar in net for the winners.
