Invest money in our youth

-

Dear Editor: Lip service is all you get from Christy Clark and her gang of hand-picked cronies. Why have they done nothing to encourage and assist in creating a homebased onshore lumber processing industry? Think of the revenue.

In this day and age it’s possible to create clean industry. Think of the jobs. Get the apprenticeship program for young people going. Wood construction is experiencing a rebirth. Get with the program.

This group of misfits say they are going to grow the economy. They have and will continue to do nothing. They don’t give a damn and have no vision whatsoever. Useless campaign B.S. — don’t buy it folks. And if we have lots of money kicking about from their four wonderful years as she claims, invest it in our youth, the returns will be immeasurable. And yes, I shall not forget her long-running vendetta against the public school system (she has her son in a private school) and has been trying to run down the public school system since 2001. I know this first hand as I had three kids in the public school system during this fiasco!

Meanwhile her MLAs recently traveled around the province announcing money for school boards like it was new money — what a crock! Shame on you Dan Ashton! Shame on you Linda Larson!

The Christy Clark government and Clark herself must go!

Our provincial debt has doubled under her watch and she has BC Hydro on life support having committed over $10 billion of BC Hydro’s budget to Site C. Did you hear anything about this? Actually, it is not BC Hydro’s money — these are your dollars! It would be nice if they would have asked first or had the BC Utilities Commission review the feasibility of the project.

And here is another thought – instead of allowing Christy to inflict more of her “drive to privatize” everything including seniors care homes, laundry services in hospitals, billion dollar bridges and hospitals — let’s stop this madness and stop her — let’s make a change.

Dan Ashton understands that Christy is a liability. He won’t mention her by name in debates and discussions.

So, I ask you “if John Horgan is going to be the premier, wouldn’t it be better to have an NDP MLA working for you in your constituency?”

Tarik Sayeed is a newbie in Penticton with so much energy, ambition and desire to be your representative in Victoria — it is incredible to see this!

You have elected Richard Cannings as your New Democratic MP – it is time to complete the sweep and elect Tarik Sayeed in Penticton and Colleen Ross in Boundary Similkameen. Brent Voss
