Skater’s paintings go on display for a short time

Toller Cranston artworks to be shown in luxury showhome

-

Original paintings by Canadian figure skating legend Toller Cranston will be shown in Kelowna June 16-19.

The display is a collaboration between Art Evolution, which has a gallery in the Delta Grand hotel, and Sierra West luxury homes.

The paintings will be on display at Sierra West’s Peachland show home June 16-19 between 1 and 5 p.m. each day. Attendance is by RSVP and is subject to capacity. Those interested in attending should email info@artevolution.com

Christopher Talbot, president of Art Evolution represented Cranston for 15 years as his publisher and also curated and produced the largest art exhibitions of his career,

Over 50 years, Cranston created and sold over 20,000 paintings. Since he died in 2015, his paintings have increased dramatically in price and have been acquired by collectors throughout North America and Europe.

Art Evolution operates globally and features artists from around the world. It recently opened its Kelowna gallery in the Delta Grand lobby.

The showhome is host to a range of investment-level artworks. Talbot decided it would be an ideal spot to display a number of Cranston’s paintings that were purchased from the estate, including museumsized artworks.

This will be the only opportunity in the Okanagan to see the collection. Other artists being shown are Salvador Dali and Jane Seymour.

Cranston financed his much of his skating career through the sale of his paintings, Talbot said.
