Neighbourhood holds 2nd annual rodeo

-

Twelve of the best bull riders, and the angriest bulls, will help Predator Ridge celebrate this weekend.

Today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Predator throws its second annual rodeo party at neighbouring Lone Pine Ranch.

There will be Aboriginal dancers, hot air balloon rides and mutton busting for the kids.

At noon, the marquee bull riding spectacle begins.

Last year, for Predator's inaugural event, the community had T-shirts printed with: This is our first rodeo.

This year the T-shirt message is: Keep calm and rodeo on, a riff on the Keep-calm-andcarry-on mantra the British government adopted in 1939 in preparation for the Second World War.

Last night, there was a barn dance at Lone Pine where Predator residents and guests paid for chances to plunge Predator managers in the dunk tank.

All money raised goes to the Okanagan Rail Trail project.

Tonight, there will be another Western party at the Predator clubhouse with live music by singer-songwriter Andrew Allen and a bluegrass band.

On Sunday, you can have a look at three modern-rancher showhomes during the launch of the hillside Commonage neighbourhood, which features a lavender meadow, view yoga platform, park and trails.
