MONTREAL — Quebec superstar singer Celine Dion has appeared naked in a photo published on Instagram by Vogue magazine.

The photo shows Dion, 49, sitting on a chair with her arms covering her breasts and her right leg crossed over her left.

The caption states the photo was taken between a costume change.

The post discusses Dion’s love of custom-made haute couture clothing, which Vogue says she has worn almost exclusively during her performances over the past five years.

Vogue quotes Dion as saying: “The clothes follow me; I do not follow the clothes.”

Actor goes to jail; won’t pay fine

WAWAYANDA, N.Y. — Oscarnominated actor James Cromwell has been sentenced to jail for refusing to pay fines related to his arrest at a protest at a New York power plant.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports a town judge in Wawayanda on Thursday sentenced Cromwell to seven days in jail.

Cromwell was among a group found guilty of obstructing traffic at a December 2015 sit-in at the site of a natural gas-fired power plant being built in Wawayanda.

The protesters say the plant poses a threat to the environment.

Cromwell says he hopes that people can see the injustice of the jail sentence and that others may be inspired to join the pickets.

Cromwell lives in a neighbouring town.

He has appeared in more than 50 films, including Babe and L.A. Confidential.

Cancelled series makes comeback

LOS ANGELES — The fans have spoken, and the cancelled Netflix series Sense8 is coming back next year for a two-hour final episode.

Netflix and show co-creator Lana Wachowski said Thursday that fan clamour inspired the show’s return. Netflix had announced earlier this month that Sense8 was not renewed for a third season.

The series features global settings and an international cast exploring their mysterious mental link.

Wachowski said in a Facebook post that the “passionate letters, the petitions, the collective voice that rose up” in support of the show ultimately helped resurrect it.

A Netflix representative confirmed the Facebook post and released a statement Thursday saying:

“We decided to give Sense8 fans the ending they totally deserve.”

Actor Rob Lowe encounters Bigfoot

Rob Lowe says he thought he was going to be killed during an encounter with a bigfoot creature while filming his new A&E docuseries.

Lowe tells Entertainment Weekly the encounter took place in the Ozark Mountains, which stretch between Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

Lowe says he and his sons were camping there to investigate a bigfoot-like creature known to locals as a “wood ape” during a shoot for The Lowe Files when something began to approach their camp.

Lowe says he was lying on the ground thinking he was going to be killed.

He adds that he’s “fully aware” the story makes him sound like “a crazy, Hollywood kook.”

The Lowe Files follows the actor and sons Matthew and John Owen as they explore mysterious phenomena across the country.
