Uplifting concert

-

Security personnel help lift a man to the floor after crowd surfing during the opening number of The Offspring’s set on Saturday at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

At a city council meeting on Nov. 2, 2016, Max Picton made the motion to allow the development to proceed because most of his friends had to leave town because they couldn't find a place to live. I presume they have returned now that two six-storey apartment buildings are being built.

Another councilor was taunting our concerns for child safety. The planning department and council should also check out the accuracy of the “traffic study” done by the developer as traffic on Kinney Avenue has substantially increased.

There are many concerns and I wonder if the developer can guarantee that there will be no traffic problems and that children and older citizens will be safe?

Considering what is going on in the world these days, can the developer guarantee that there will be no sexual predators and/or drug dealers as tenants?

The missing jewellery consisted of a jade bracelet, a pair of diamond earrings, an opal pendent (in the shape of a tree) on a gold chain, a pair of jade and diamond earrings and possibly a few other items of jewellery which she can't be certain of.

The only two places she visited were the cemetery and the Sandman Inn. She has contacted the Sandman Inn but they did not find anything nor were they turned into the desk and also contacted the police to advise them in case someone found it and turned the purse and contents into them.

Most of the pieces were gifts from her late husband and have an extremely high sentimental value.

Should anyone have found this purse and contents but not yet reported the find, we would be most appreciative to hear from you for our elderly aunt's peace of mind. Al Sismey Penticton
