Game-changer wine glasses

- STEVE MacNAULL

Cookbook

Rod Butters, the chef behind Raudz Regional Table and Micro Bar & Bites in Kelowna and Terrafina restaurant at Hester Creek Winery in Oliver, held a garden party at his house this week to launch his cookbook.

The Okanagan Table: The Art of Everyday Home Cooking features 270 pages and 80 illustrated recipes using local ingredients that were developed, tested and photographed right in his home kitchen.

Highlights are the oat-crusted Arctic char that’s been a staple on the menu at Raudz for years and spring-pea soup.

There’s also a suggested Okanagan wine or cocktail pairing for every dish.

Buy the book for $38 at ChefRodButters.com.

SPCA fundraiser

Bring your pup, tip a glass and leave a donation Sunday at this Sip & Support SPCA fundraiser at Naramata’s Township 7 Winery.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the winery will be overrun with dogs up for adoption and running the agility course in the vineyard.

There will also be food trucks, live music and vendors.

Save On

The Save On Foods stores that sell B.C. wine in Penticton and Kelowna are part of the 15-store province-wide #BuyLocal consumer tasting all day Friday.

There will be free samples from Okanagan wineries paired with meats, cheeses and produce from local farms.

Featured wines will be on sale as will the foods that accompanied them.

The other stores are in the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Prince George and Parksville.
