Dallas Smith performing at SOEC Nov. 17

Canadian country singer Dallas Smith is including Penticton on his forthcomin­g tour of Canada, playing a date at the South Okanagan Events Centre on Friday, Nov. 17.

Tickets for the Side Effects tour go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

Smith won both a Juno and Canadian Country Music Award for Album of the Year for his 2015 release, Lifted, which spawned three singles which cracked the top 5 of the Canadian country music charts: Wastin’ Gas, Lifted, and Cheap Seats.

His latest album, Side Effects, produced three singles which went to No. 1 in his native Canada — Autograph, Side Effects, and Sky Stays This Blue.

The Langley-born Smith first drew attention as the lead singer of grunge band Default which scored a hit single, Wasting My Time, which reached No. 1 in Canada and No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles list in the U.S.
