Albert Harrison of the United States posted a 56-second win over his nearest rival in the Age Group Standard Distance Duathlon at the ITU Multisport World Championship Festival Monday in Penticton.
Harrison clocked in at 1 hour, 51 minutes and 8 seconds to capture the world title in the competition, which featured a 10 km run, 40 km run and another 5 km run.
Lee Piercy of Great Britain was second in 1:52:04 while Canadian Matt Straatman rounded out the top three in 1:52:54.
On the women’s side, Kirsten Sass made it a clean sweep for the U.S. by prevailing in 2:02:17. Canadian Melissa Paauwe was second in 2:04:47 and Gill Fullen of Great Britain was third in 2:08:07.
