Anderson senior men’s champion

Bruce Anderson carded a 36-hole score of 151 to capture the Twin Lakes Golf Resort senior men’s club championsh­ip Tuesday.

Marten trailed Jim Marten after the first round but bounced back and ended up winning by three strokes over Reid Sutherland at 154.

Marten settled for the overall low net by countback at 133.

Other low gross flight winners were Dueane Sly at 181 and Lou Brulotte at 187.

Other low net flight winners were Bob Biro at 136, Don Affleck by countback at 139 and Les Stevens at 137.

In elections held after the golf, English remained club captain, while Gary Kennedy and Red Bosscha are new members of the executive.

TWIN LADIES: Bernice Moody breezed to the low gross title at the 36-hole Twin Lakes Golf Resort ladies’ club championsh­ip held Aug. 16-17. Lou-Anne Gowing claimed the overall low net. Other low gross flight winners were Gayle Bukowsky and Pat Horner.

Other low net flight winners were Connie Felton and Bev Lintott.

SUMMERLAND LADIES: Carol Mulligan logged a 66 to top the

Summerland Golf and Country Club ladies’ "hidden holes" outing on Tuesday.

Club golf profession­als selected nine holes to be revealed after the game had been played. Players added the scores from these nine holes, doubled the total and subtracted their handicap to arrive at the final score. Vi Ward was runner-up in the first flight at 74. In the second flight, it was Vijai Vaagen at 69 and Pat Stohl at 70.

Norma Chambers claimed the third flight at 74 with Ellen Clay second at 78.

PENTICTON SENIOR MEN: The team of Doug Peters, Art Moore and Bob Cowan topped the Penticton Golf and Country Club senior men’s day “Stableford” event on Wednesday.

Second place went to Mike Crowson, Dirk Schmitt and Don Stinson.
