Many examples show how bad our justice system is

-

Editor: Just a couple of thoughts as to why Canada is such a great place to live, especially for some.

We have a prime minister who welcomes all unwanted illegal people entering from America to Canada after being out-foxed by U.S. president Donald Trump.

In Canada a person may cut off the head of an innocent young male passenger while riding a bus. After a few short years, the assailant will be given day passes and deemed to be no danger to the public.

Another creep murdered his own three children and did some time in the nut house before a judge concluded he was no threat to the public.

Now, we have another young man that carried out a plan to kill his own mother and grandmother. This individual was recently turned down at this point in time from reentering society.

A Canadian born-teenager apparently committed treason after being held responsible for the death of an American soldier and injuring another. The government agreed to pay $10 million for compensate for the treatment he received while in an American prison.

Closer to home, retired RCMP officer Keith Wiens shoots his common-law wife in the head, but continues to deny his guilt, receives a $3,000 severance package from the school board, and now is suing his former in-laws over his deceased partner's estate.

We have a sleazy senator seeking $8 million after being acquitted of 31 fraud-related charges. Not one charge stuck and he’s back wallowing at the trough.

Another senator was found to have had sex with an underage girl and resigned before getting the boot so he could collect his pension of$24,500 per year.

This short list is a tiny part of one that would reach the moon and back.

Any judge, lawyer or politician who supports such horror should take what they consider murderers at low risk to re-offend and move them into their home while rehabilitation continues.

There has never been and never will be faith in this shameful Canadian justice system or the political arena. Till horror hits the families of the who’s who, they will never feel the lifetime of pain of those families whose loved ones were struck by such tragedies. Tom Isherwood, Olalla
