Championsh­ips are decided at Penticton club

Dean Bates and Diane Anderson triumphed at the Penticton Golf and Country Club men’s and women’s club championsh­ips on the weekend.

Bates stormed back on Day 3 of the 36-hole competitio­n to finish at 152 — two strokes better than Brooks Lancaster and Kevin Grieve at 154.

Lancaster took runner-up by countback, while Grieve settled for winning the overall low net at 134.

On the women’s side, Anderson fired a two-round total of 171 to prevail by four strokes and take home the Raymond James Trophy as overall low gross winner.

Louise Hickey won the Jack McFall Memorial Trophy as overall low net winner at 144. MEN’S: Championsh­ip flight (0-10 handicap): Gross, Lancaster, 154; net, Grieve, 134.

11-13 handicap: Gross, Dave Greene, 161; Matt Mikulic, 173; Net, Wendell Clark, 143; Ernie Peaker, 150.

14-17 handicap: Gross, Roland Holowaty, 165; Brent Levins, 179 (CB); Net, Ken MacDermot, 147; Bud Kadin, 149.

18-plus handicap: Net, Alvin Lalonde, 143; Gary Coy, 144. LADIES: Championsh­ip flight (0-14 handicap): Gross, Donna Lalonde, 175; Lynn Kinsey, 179; Net, Pat Lawrence, 158; Viv Mohoruk, 159.

15-24 handicap: Gross, Bernice Cameron, 199; Mo Bildfell, 201; Net, Kathy Hofmann, 164; Diane Banera, 169 (CB).

25-plus handicap: Gross, Elaine Vonck, 210; Glo Muir, 218; Net, Laurie Kadin, 162; Lois Moore, 166.
