Kyle Anderson shows off his original side at dinner concert

-

Kyle Anderson is once again showcasing his original side.

The local entertainer is having a busy year. He is a regular performer at the Vees games, at St. Andrews Golf Club, the OK Falls Hotel, Highway 97 Brewery and the Nest & Nectar Restaurant in the Cannery Trade Centre.

“I think I’ve found a formula that works,” said Anderson. “I’m relying on my radio and nightclub DJ careers to choose songs that appeal to the most people.”

He doesn’t regularly play his own compositions when he’s out in the general public.

“That’s not my purpose at those venues. The crowds want to hear songs they know.”

So, every so often Anderson features an evening of songs he wrote or co-wrote for an interested audience. One such concert is this Saturday, Oct. 21.

“I have two CDs full of my own music and I like to show them off,” Anderson said. “And the Nest & Nectar is the perfect place to do it.”

The year-old restaurant in the Cannery Trade Centre recently won Best New Business at the Penticton Chamber’s Excellence Awards.

“The owners and staff at the Nest & Nectar welcomed me into their family and we work together regularly. They came up with the idea to host a gourmet buffet before the Many Hats Theatre productions and we’re borrowing on that idea and doing the same at my concert,” Anderson added.

The evening consists of dinner at 6:30 and two-hour sit down concert at 7:30. There will also be desserts available during the intermission.

Anderson will also be joined by long time musical collaborator songstress Gail Riddall. Riddall co-wrote a number of the featured songs.
