MINOR HOCKEY

Twelve teams — including two local squads — will do battle in the Penticton Minor Hockey Associatio­n’s Atom Developmen­t B Tournament today to Sunday.

Action gets going today at 1:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday starting at 6:30 a.m., continuing through to the championsh­ip game Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Arena. The OHS rink and McLaren Park Arena will also be utilized for the 25-game tourney.

Along with the two Penticton teams, South Okanagan, Kelowna, Salmon Arm, Kamloops, Abbotsford, Cloverdale, Langley, North Delta and U.S. teams from Spokane and Idaho will be competing.

The schedule for the two Penticton teams and the South Okanagan entry is as follows:

TODAY: Penticton 1 vs. Abbotsford, 1:30 p.m., OHS; South OK vs. North Delta, 5 p.m., Memorial; Penticton 2 vs. Spokane, 5:15 p.m., McLaren.

SATURDAY: Penticton 2 vs. Abbotsford, 6:30 a.m., Memorial; South OK vs. Cloverdale, 7 a.m., OHS; Penticton 1 vs. Spokane, 10 a.m., Memorial.

South OK vs. Langley, 1 p.m., OHS; Idaho vs. Penticton 2, 1:30 p.m., Memorial; Kelowna vs. Penticton, 6:45 p.m., Memorial.

SUNDAY: Semifinals – 1st vs. 4th, 6:30 a.m., Memorial; 2nd vs. 3rd, 6:45 a.m., OHS.

Placement games: 9th vs. 10th, 8:15 a.m., Memorial; 11th vs. 12th, 8:30 a.m., OHS; 7th vs. 8th, 10 a.m., Memorial; 5th vs. 6th, 11:45

Joel Post and Luke Rioux netted two goals apiece and Scott Panov earned the shutout as the Hitmen blasted Biscuits 8-0 in Penticton Men’s Recreation­al Hockey League action.

Mark Petry, Jay Johnson, Jarrett Warren and Patrick Martin also scored for the Hitmen.

Two-goal showings by Mike Funk, Chad Kupcyzk and Mitch MacMillan powered EcoDry Ice Dogs past Game Time Sports Wolverines 9-5.

Brent Mosses, Nick Riep and Trevor Aubie also lit the lamp.

Dominic Aceto, Sam Nigg, Olli Dickson, Michael Crawford and

Carter Rigby tallied for the Wolverines.

SOCCER

The Bad Tattoo Brewery Masters (45-andover) Indoor Soccer League is holding drop-in scrimmage games the next two Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. at the Adidas Sportsplex

Participan­ts are asked to bring a white and a dark shirt. There is a $10 drop-in fee for each session.

The four-team league runs on Sunday mornings (15 games) starting Nov. 4 until the end of February.
