Hey criminals, go get a real job

-

Dear Editor: Given all the recent press regarding drug- driven property crime rates and the people/issues surrounding these activities within Penticton and the surrounding area I think it’s time to share a little-known fact.

There is a loose knit group of us that keep an eye on these issues. We know who these people are and who they are connected to. We know what you are stealing/selling to support your habits and what you are buying from whomever. Some of us have contacts within the law enforcement/street level community, others have other skills and social media tools such as Facebook API’s and algorithms that help us connect the dots.

The key point is that this is not our job. We do this out of concern for our city and fellow citizens. This allows us to work outside the box and implement unorthodox tactics as we have no one to answer to except ourselves.

But we do hold to one very important maxim. State and share only known facts. Now for the criminal cry babies out there that don’t like getting outted there is a simple solution to your problem.

Quit what you are doing (ask for help if you need some) and then start improving yourself by learning a trade, going to school and start being productive. It’s not a hard concept but we do understand that the drug game/scene can be a tempting mistress and a hard monkey to get off your back.

For a list of who is going to court today and also a recent completed list of charges, disposition and the judge who issued the decision Google search the following “Penticton Court List PDF” and click on the links associated with this search. The information given in the following search results can be a little cryptic to decipher but you can call the Kelowna Courthouse Registry at 250-470-6900. I find the staff there to be most accommodating and more than glad to explain it all to you. This allows you to bypass the CSO search tool and direct access to recent files and cases within the Penticton courthouse in a PDF format that may be downloaded or printed.

The court services online tool is also a very effective tool to help get a grasp as to who you are potentially going to be dealing with. I use a 5x5 rule. If someone has five or more trips within five years to 100 Main Street some further digging/research on that person may be warranted. Daniel Pontes
