Spelling it out for Reagan

-

Dear editor: Re: Reagan offended by name calling, Herald, Letters, Oct. 30

I read with interest (and disgust) the e-mail sent to you from Loren Reagan.

After reading this email a few times over, I counted no less than 20 grammatical and spelling errors (and I probably missed a few).

All I can say is that if someone touts themselves as a successful businessman, as far as I am concerned, they had better be able to spell and have a clue in which context the words there, their, and they're should be used. The same holds true for were and where, your and you're.

Had I been in City Hall as mayor or councillor, and received this kind of correspondence from anyone claiming to be a successful person in the business community, I would have started an immediate investigation into this person's background and past.

This is the worst use of the Queen's English that I have seen in decades. An average sixth grader could do much better.

I had better watch what I say, though, because it might border on being slanderous. Mark Billesberger

Penticton of reference towards them from our council perspective.

Hopefully, in 2018 before election time, many citizens of Penticton become more informed and will exercise their right to vote and that we will be in a position to feel civic pride and give credit where credit is due and bring out fewer points of criticism or negativity. It all depends on the voting public! Ron Barillaro Penticton
