Penticton Secondary and Princess Margaret Secondary will hook up in the annual Cross City Volleyball Challenge tonight at Pen-Hi.

The Pen-Hi Lakers and Princess Margaret Mustangs will play a pair of matches, with the senior girls on court at 5 p.m. and the senior boys at 6:45 p.m.

Organizers are hoping for another full crowd for what will be the kickoff event for the 10,000 Tonight Food Drive.

Coaches for the Pen-Hi team are Rob Gunning and Andy Botero (senior girls) and Anita and Marcus Toneatto (senior boys).

For Princess Margaret, it is Searra Becker and Gerri Hess (senior girls) and Rich Corrie (senior boys).

BCHL

Jared Marino’s goal early in the third period proved to be the winner as the West Kelowna Warriors edged the visiting Prince George Spruce Kings 4-3 in BCHL action Sunday.

Lucas Cullen, Chase Stevenson and Michael Lombardi also scored for the Warriors (14-9-0), who leapfrogge­d idle Wenatchee into third place in the Interior Division.

Kyle Johnson, Dustin Manz and former Penticton Vees forward Ben Brar scored for the Kings (11-9-5).

Cody Porter made 34 saves for the Warriors and Bradley Cooper stopped 28 for P.G., which trailed 2-1 and 3-2 at the period breaks.

On Wednesday, the Penticton Vees (11-5-3) welcome the Surrey Eagles to the South Okanagan Events Centre, while West Kelowna travels to Kal Tire Place to face the Vernon Vipers. Both games are 7 p.m. puck-drops.

The Vees visit West Kelowna on Friday at 7 p.m. and welcome lowly Cowichan Valley to the SOEC on Saturday at 6 p.m.
