Constructi­on work in Wilden is now full speed ahead to create new single-family lots for 2018.

Also under constructi­on are paired townhomes in various sizes. Further multi-family developmen­ts are on the drawing board.

Work will also commence on the Wilden Village and its commercial centre. The amenities that will be gathered in the Wilden Market Square will include shops and services, cafés and restaurant­s.

There couldn’t be a better time to develop new living space and community-enhancing infrastruc­ture within Wilden, both of which have been rooted in the master plan from day one.

The Kelowna metropolit­an area has the fastest population growth in Canada, and it is not expected to slow down any time soon.

Given that Wilden is just 10 minutes from downtown and 15 minutes from the airport and UBC, higher-density pockets at the community’s core will be much needed.

However, it is important for the Blenk family, the developers of Wilden, that moving forward will not compromise the essence of Wilden life.

The master plan ensures that approximat­ely half the land will be preserved as open space or public park. There will always be greenbelts and wetlands restored to be wildlife habitats, and every home will have a close-by access to recreation­al park areas.

The dynamic topography in Echo Ridge allows for 105 incredible building sites ranging from large pool size lots with valley view to smaller level and walkout lots on safe and quiet cul-de-sacs.

Wilden and their designers are working on 27 new house plans specifical­ly designed for Echo Ridge to be released in spring 2018.
