The Kelowna chapter of 100 Men Who Give a Damn has hit the milestone of 10 events raising more than $170,000 for local charities, according to co-founder Chris Wills of Colliers International.
Police win
The new Kelowna Police Services Building at the corner of Richter Street and Clement Avenue was the overall winner at the 9th annual Thompson Okanagan Kootenay Commercial Building Awards.
The $48-million, three-storey, 100,000-square-foot RCMP detachment is part offices, part cells and part forensic laboratories.
The building, designed by Vancouverbased Kasian Architecture and built by Toronto-based Bird Construction, also picked up the Award of Excellence in the community institution category.
