Everyone should have homeland

Dear editor: The millions of Palestinia­ns living in exile seriously wishing to return to Palestine could follow the examples of the North American homeless, the European refugee phenomenon and the ancient Jewish exodus from Egypt to resolve their deplorable dilemma.

All exile Palestinia­ns could use their mind and feet with no violence and together proceed to Israel from all directions and squat in Israel. The sheer Palestinia­n numbers would precipitat­e a rapid Israeli-Palestinia­n resolution. Very simple if the Palestinia­ns themselves are serious.

No one else has helped them. They are just being used and abused by other powers. Surely everyone deserves the right of a home in their own land, especially at Christmas. Joe Schwarz

Penticton There he could get a good, hot meal (better than in a lot of restaurant­s) every day, and sometimes extras to take out. That lesson of caring for and about our fellow human, regardless of race or religion, seems to me to be the essential message of Christmas.
