Oliver building boom sees massive increase

-

Oliver saw a massive increase in construction last year, according to fresh statistics presented to council this week.

Town staff issued 101 building permits for work valued at $15.6 million in 2017, well up on the 67 permits worth $9.8 million the year prior.

The bulk of last year’s totals came in the form of permits for 45 new residential units worth $11.9 million.

That compared to just 11 such permits worth $3.7 million in the year-ago period.
