Thanks to Penticton’s tire and snow angels

-

Dear editor: After our first snow fall in December, I went shopping at Cherry Lane mall. I disembarked from the car and noticed the rear tire was flat I had a nail protruding from the tire.

I proceeded to start changing the wheel, when I had an offer from a gentleman to do it. I declined with thanks, I no sooner began and I had a further offer. This time I accepted

When the job was completed I offered to pay the young man. He declined saying it was the way he was raised.

On the way home I left the wheel and tire at Fountain Tire and was told to return later.

When I did, a very polite serviceman took the vehicle and did the necessary work.

When I came to pay the manager replied no charge and wished me well. To all who turned a bad situation into a more pleasant one, many thanks, and have a happy, healthy new year.

To all the neighbours and the young teenager by the name of Chase, thanks for helping with the driveway, recently and previous years. Colin Van Blerk Penticton Herald's letter to the editor policy. Following the same kind of letter in the previous provincial election, I wrote a similar letter. It was not published.

Will the change in editors now find acceptable a letter which questions, or criticizes, editorial policy? From past experience, I found that it seems OK to criticize any number of topics, but not so if pertains to the editor. In the past I have had several letters of mine on other topics published; but not on three occasions when I criticized the editor. Tony Brummet Osoyoos

Editor’s note: I think you have your answer. We print virtually every letter that comes in the door, provided they’re in good taste and not libelous. See full policy at right.
