- By Penticton Herald Staff

The Penticton Arts Council is accepting nominations for the fifth annual Arts Awards.

Nominations will be accepted until midnight on March 5, with the awards ceremony to be held on Tuesday, April 10, at the Cleland Community Theatre.

This annual celebration honours nominees for their outstanding achievement and contribution to the arts in the community. The arts awards also serve to underline the importance of the arts and to recognize individuals and organizations for the significant contributions and for their exceptional support of arts and culture in Penticton.

Nominations are being accepted in a total of 14 arts categories, ranging from graphic and visual arts to dance, music and literary arts.

This year’s award categories also include Indigenous arts excellence and Indigenous youth arts excellence, as well as the newly added category for business supporter of the arts. For a full list of categories and an online nomination form, visit www.PentictonArtsCouncil.com.

Printed nomination forms are available at the Leir House Cultural Centre, 220 Manor Park Ave.
