PLK continues winning ways

Leading scorer has hand in 7 of team’s 11 goals for 12th win in 13 games

Alan Clarke and Zico Pescada powered Penticton Lock and Key to another win in Bad Tattoo Brewery Masters Indoor Soccer League action on Sunday at the Adidas Sportsplex.

Clarke scored four goals and league scoring leader Pescada logged a goal and six assists as PLK defeated Theos 11-6 for their 12th win in 13 games this season.

Dave Crompton had two goals and two assists, Gord McLaren and Don Russell e ach scored twice and Vlado Zamecnik notched three assists for PLK, who have already clinched first place in the four-team league.

Harry Higson and Murray McMichael scored two each, Norm Peters had a goal and four assists and Brian Johnston had a goal for Theos, who trailed 6-2 at halftime. Nathan Larkin scored three goals to help Harvey-Lister-Webb beat TC Auto Sales 12-8 in a game between two badly depleted teams.

Johnston had two goals and seven assists, Pescada, Rick Marini and Reid Jenkins each scored twice and Ernie Kish had one for HLW.

Joe Kandola and Mike Beliveau had hat-tricks and Peters scored twice for TC Auto.

Only two rounds of league play remain. In games this Sunday, TC Auto plays Theos at 10 a.m., and PLK faces HLW at 11:20 a.m.

MURRAY GM MEN’S LEAGUE: In Week 13 league play, PFC beat Nomads FC 8-2, The Hooligans upset Black Panthers FC 6-5, Over-35s downed Penticton Liverpools FC 6-4, and Oliver FC outlasted Blue Bucks FC 9-8.

Standings: 1st Over-35s 36 points, 2nd PFC 32 points, 3rd Nomads FC 19 points, 4th Oliver FC 18 points, 5th Penticton Liverpools FC 17 points, 6th Blue Bucks FC 13 points, 7th Black Panthers FC 10 points, 8th The Hooligan 5 points.
