Coyotes tie series with Revelstoke

OSOYOOS — It’s all even at 2-2 after four games in the Okanagan-Shuswap Conference championsh­ip series.

Austin Cleaver scored 69 seconds into the second period and the Osoyoos Coyotes nursed the lead the rest of the way for a 2-1 victory over the Revelstoke Grizzlies Wednesday at the Sun Bowl Arena.

Carter Robinson tied the game late in the first period after Cole Golden gave Revelstoke the early lead.

Daniel Paul made 34 saves for the win and Giovanni Sambrielaz stopped 35 shots for the Grizzlies.

Game 5 goes tonight in Revelstoke, Game 6 is Saturday at 7:35 p.m. at the Sun Bowl. If necessary, Game 7 goes Sunday night in Revelstoke.

The Kootenay Conference final between Nelson Leafs and Kimberley Dynamiters was also tied going into Game 5 Thursday in Kimberley.

Wolverines capture rec league crown

Dylan Burton had a hat-trick but it was Dan Fraser with the two biggest goals as the Game Time Sports Wolverines outlasted the Hitmen 7-6 in overtime in the fifth and deciding game of the Penticton Men’s Recreation­al Hockey League championsh­ip series.

Fraser tied the game with eight seconds left and scored the overtime winner as the surprising Wolverines took the series 3-2.

Sam Nigg and Michael Crawford also scored for the winners.

Michael Penny with three goals, Mark Petry, Jarett Warren and Keaghan Roberts scored for the Hitmen.

Three of the five games in the series were decided in overtime.

Summerland team finishes at 2-2

The host Summerland Jets finished up round-robin play at 2-2 after consecutiv­e wins at the BC Hockey provincial peewee tier 3 hockey championsh­ip.

Summerland beat Whitehorse 5-2 on Wednesday night but finished out of contention for a semifinal berth at the 10-team event.

Dawson Creek played Terrace, and Langley played OkanaganMa­inline champs Kelowna in the semifinals on Thursday night. Kelowna (3-1) clinched a spot by blasting Castlegar 17-5 on Wednesday.

The tourney wraps up today at the Summerland Arena with the third-place game at 8 a.m. and the championsh­ip game at 11 a.m.

In the bantam tier 3 provincial­s in Nelson, Penticton Murray Buick GMC Vees fell 3-2 to Powell River in the third-place game at the nine-team competitio­n Wednesday. Penticton finished 33 in the tourney.

Mission won the title with a 2-1 win over the host Nelson squad in a battle of undefeated teams.

James Harden scores 10 in OT

HOUSTON — James Harden scored 21 points, including 10 of Houston's 12 points in overtime, to lift the Rockets to a 100-96 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night.

Eric Gordon added 22 points for Houston on a night Chris Paul sat out with a sore left hamstring.
