Easter fun abounds around town

- — Okanagan Weekend Staff

There is plenty of hopping around to do for Easter weekend in and around Penticton.

As always, the LocoLanding egg hunt is the perfect place to bring the little ones Monday. Tickets are $5 per child and the hunt takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for pictures.

The busy bunny will also be up at Apex Mountain for an egg hunt starting at the heli-pad at 10 a.m. with eggs hidden all over the mountain.

The Penticton Museum and Archives is hosting a “peep scavenger hunt” as well as a station to make your own Easter card and an egg counting contest.

Activities are to begin at 10:30 a.m. and are recommended for kids ages two to seven.

An Easter brunch takes place Sunday at Penticton Lakeside Resort with a kids egg hunt at 11 a.m.

Those looking for an exciting spectacle can head to Manitou Park for the annual Naramata egg drop on Saturday which begins at noon with a bouncy castle, sparkle tattoos, a scavenger hunt and a colouring contest. At 1 p.m., a helicopter will be flying over the park to drop ping pong balls to be hunted.

Saturday from noon until 3 p.m. (or until the eggs run out) Liquidity Wines in Okanagan Falls is hosting its third annual Easter egg hunt. Just show up a little early for the free event and get ready to hunt.

Each egg has chocolate, candy or a number which gets participants a prize, including winery vouchers or donations from Hoodoo Adventures (including a two-person kayak wine and cheese tour valued at $300). There are 600 eggs to be found with a prize for each. The Easter Bunny is going to be on hand for silly photo-ops as well.
