Horgan, Scheer planning Penticton stops this week
Two high-profile political leaders are scheduled to touch down in the South Okanagan this week.
First up is Premier John Horgan, who is hosting a public meet-and-greet Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. at The Nest and Nectar restaurant in Penticton.
He’s then slated to head to Lakeridge Homes for an announcement “that will benefit people living in manufactured homes,” according to a media advisory.
Later that afternoon, he will head to Oliver to kick off B.C. Wine Month at Tinhorn Creek Winery with Agriculture Minister Lana Popham and BC Wine Institute CEO Miles Prodan.
Horgan’s itinerary includes a tour of Tinhorn’s vineyard, tasking room and Miradaro restaurant.
Meanwhile, the leader of the federal Conservatives is due in Penticton on Thursday.
Andrew Scheer is scheduled to give a presentation and take questions on business competitiveness, touching on such topics as taxes, the federal budget and interprovincial trade.
Hosted by the Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce, the presentation runs from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Riverside Conference Centre at the Days Inn.
The cost to attend is $12 and includes a light breakfast. Attendees are required to register in advance at www.penticton.org or by calling 778-476-3111.
