Records fall at District meet

A trio of records were broken at the School District 67 middle school track and field meet Thursday at the Pen-Hi complex.

Tayla Ingram of Summerland Middle School shattered the Grade 8 girls’ javelin with a toss of 23.53 metres.

It broke the previous mark of 19.25 held by Jennifer Black.

Emma Wilson set the new mark in Grade 8 girls’ shot put with a 9.95 metre toss. The previous record was 9.36 metres.

Zach Heck of Skaha Lake Middle School establishe­d a new record in the Grade 6 boys’ shot put with an 11.18 metre effort, besting the previous record of 10.91.
