All eight finals now set in co-ed slo-pitch playoffs

The finals are set in all eight divisions as the Penticton (Co-Ed) Slo-Pitch League playoffs wrap up this week.

With the double-knockout format in the playoffs, each final could be one game, or require a second game. Here is a look at how things shape up: Division 1A: The Phanatics take on the VBS Diggers tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Mullins Field. If the Diggers win, there will be a Game 2 Tuesday at Mullins.

The Diggers joined the Phanatics in the final by beating the four-time defending playoff champions Family Tree Care Dirtbags 237 on Thursday.

Div. 1B: It will be Clancy’s Cariboozer­s taking on the Brat Pack tonight at Lion’s Park in a matchup of the 4th and 3rd seeded teams in the playoffs. The Brat Pack need to win Game 1 at 6:30 p.m. to force a deciding game immediatel­y after at 8 p.m.

Div. 2A: 1st-seed Kekumbas take on Diamond Edge Stucco Chillin Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Lion’s. If Chillin wins, the deciding game follows right after at 8 p.m. Chillin edged Beach City Ballers 14-13 in an eliminatio­n game Thursday to get to the final.

Div. 2B: The final has the 5th-seed Brew Jays going unbeaten and taking on 1st-seed Deep Roots Winery Wednesday at Lion’s at 6:30 p.m. and, if Deep Roots wins, a deciding game at 8 p.m.

Div. 3A: 1st-seed McFierce takes on The Pen tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Parkway, and if The Pen wins the opener, Tuesday, also at Parkway.

The Pen got past Kids in the Hall 16-13 to earn a spot in the final.

Div. 3B: No. 2 seed Hood Rats take on No. 1 seed Hustling Squirrels Thursday at Lion’s. If the Squirrels win the first game at 6:30 p.m., a deciding game goes at 8 p.m.

The Squirrels beat the Smokin’ Bats 8-6 in the showdown for the second spot in the final.

Div. 4A: Third-seed Rolls Big Bats rolled unbeaten into the final and will play firstseed Gartner’s Bobcats. The final is at Skaha Lake Park at 6:30 p.m. tonight and, if Gartner’s wins it, a deciding Game 2 goes on Wednesday. Gartner’s beat Valley 1st One Hit Wonders 20-17 to earn a spot in the final.

Div. 4B: First-seed Direct Tappin’ It meets I’d Hit That at Skaha Lake Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Game 2, if needed, would be played on Thursday.

I’d Hit That got to the final by topping Skaha Ford 19-12.
