Creators of act ones to blame

-

Dear editor: Half a year to relocate is plenty enough time.

The main reason is none of Delta residents have children to worry about.

It’s not the problem of the individual land holder or the band that there isn’t a place for them to move to due to being low income. That’s also a problem for off-reserve places! Blame them for not having anywhere to live that’s affordable.

That issue hits more people then just Delta residents, like single mothers who are given less than two months to move out and relocate. Half a year to save up your money is a long time with no children to have to feed and clothe.

All Canadians should have to follow the same rules as what people are saying now because of this Delta issue.

Well guess what, try being under the thumb of the Indian Act — natives have a whole ton of additional rules to follow that don’t even make sense when saying “We are all Canadians”, apparently under the Indian Act not so much.

If you don’t like the rules on reserves, then bring it up with the Canadians who created and manage the Indian Act. Carlene George

Penticton Clearly, he is also pandering to his lunatic base of supporters, most of whom I doubt are getting up off the couch at home when the national anthem is played on their televisions during each NFL game that is broadcast. I fail to sympathize with hypocrites.

Which leads me to conclude that, while I get why many people voted for Trump, and it was certainly their right to do so, continued support of this president is detrimental to the nation more so than any national anthem protests.

When I see the type of people who attend Trump’s rallies, I believe they are as malignant a form of illness as Trump himself. This nation needs a good round of chemotherapy. Mark Kelly Corvallis, Oregon
