-

Dear editor: Three strikes and it’s a game changer. Last week, those in the media were asking, ”Do you think tourism is down?” Well, that was last week and the reality must now be obvious. This is the third year running that we have got a bummer of a summer.

Tourism is definitely down (check the channel. If this is the new normal, and the scientist say that it is, it will come the inevitable consequences

Forget the Beautiful B.C. ads, dismiss the lovely views of the mountains, scrap the Stanley Park ventures because it’s all changing and it’s not for the better.

The smoky consequences are going to be far reaching.

Would you now book a vacation here in B.C.? Would you buy a house in B.C.? Would you now want to leave B.C.? Will the berry and cherry other crops be affected for export?

Will the B.C. medical fraternity become overwhelmed with an epidemic of people suffering congestion ailments? Will employers start to get nervous employing for future ventures?

Tonight I thought to myself, ‘So, young man, next year where would I go for a vacation?’ Taking into consideration all of the above plus the worldwide political unrest and the Donald being the most powerful chap on the planet… hmmm. Time to pour another red one. Gulp.
