Canucks release Young Stars roster

Pettersson to make Vancouver debut at Penticton showcase

The Vancouver Canucks unveiled their roster for the 2018 Young Stars Classic set for Friday to Sunday at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Centre Elias Pettersson, widely considered to be one of the best prospects in the world, highlights the Canucks’ roster. The 19-yearold Swede was picked in the first round, fifth overall in the 2017 NHL entry Draft. Finnish defenceman Olli Juolevi, picked in the first round, fifth overall of the 2016 draft, is once again on the Young Stars roster.

The following is the complete Canucks roster for the fourteam event that also features the Winnipeg Jets prospects and the UBC and University of Alberta teams.

Michael DiPietro, Ivan Kulbakov The Canucks will hold their first practice — which is open to the public — Thursday at 2 p.m. at the SOEC.

The Canucks will play the Jets on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and in the finale Sunday at 2 p.m.

UBC and U of A will do battle on Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 6 p.m.
