Do homework before voting

-

Dear Editor: All elections are important, therefore it’s imperative not to just vote for a name you recognize on the ballot in the Oct. 20 municipal elections.

Do your homework and use your vote to make a change where needed.

Check out what our current mayor and council have done and refresh your mind on the areas you disagree with. The Daily

Courier is currently listing certain controversial projects and gives a list of who voted for and against certain projects.

If you disagree with the mayor and/or the council members who voted for a project that you disagreed with, then it might be time to vote for replacements.

Make sure you also check what the other candidates’ platforms are, and if you agree with them. If so, try to make a change by voting for them.

Most important is to get out and vote and do your research. I personally will be voting for only one of the current council members. Hopefully, others who are running against our current mayor and council members will have a better vision as to what Kelowna should look like.

Hopefully, they will feel that our crime and drug problems are a major issue and we don’t need a downtown full of skyscrapers. Wouldn’t it be nice to feel safe downtown and not be hassled by panhandlers, druggies and to be able to walk on our beaches and in our parks without worrying that you might step on a needle.

It is obvious to me the current mayor and council members (excluding one) don’t share my feelings. Doyle Bray Kelowna
