The Penticton Lawn Bowling Club wrapped up their season with the final tournament­s on the weekend.

Ladies singles was won by Patti Carlsen, with Lil Blashko taking second and Khirisa Sukijna third.

Men’s singles was won by Terry O’Riordon, with Kevin Barry taking second and Garry Brunner third.

The club’s Champions Tournament was won by Patti Carlsen and Kevin Barry.

Meanwhile, the first ever Interior Lawn Bowling Associatio­ns (ILBA) was held in Vernon on Sept. 22-23, with Carlsen and Barry from Penticton placing third.

The annual President’s Cup tournament, for the Interior, was played in Kamloops on Sept. 5 and Penticton’s Larry Bechard came out on top.

Canucks waive Sam Gagner

VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Canucks placed veteran forward Sam Gagner on waivers, the club announced Monday.

Gagner, 29, signed with Vancouver as an unrestrict­ed free agent on July 1, 2017, agreeing to a three-year, US$9.45-million contract. If Gagner clears waivers, he will be assigned to the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League.
