TIP OF THE WEEK

It is against the rules to use any device during an end to measure rocks. After all 16 stones are thrown, the stones closest to the centre of the button score, no stones are moved until the thirds decide the score. The thirds do any measuring and the team winning the end marks the score.

Cheryl Jaeger is office manager of the Summerland Curling Club. Her column appears weekly in The Herald. 212 (after a 16-point week) and Roll N Stones Fun Centre Alley Brats at 211 are right on their tail. Elks Arrows had 12 points and round out the top five in the 16-team league at 189.

Calvin Ek and Jason Gerlat lead the league with two perfect 180 scores apiece, with Terry Done, Mike Meaney and Davene D’amico each logging one.

Doug Belanger had the men’s high score at 177 and Deb Nichols the ladies’ high score at 168.
