MACDONALD, Jacqueline Frances

-

November 28, 1935 - April 21, 2020 With sadness we announce the passing of Jackie Macdonald. Jackie is predeceased by her husband Stu Macdonald (2015). She is survived by her children, Keith (Cheryl) Macdonald, Jennifer (Barry) Potter, Sheila Macdonald, Nancy (Hank) Macdonald; granddaughter, Hilary Potter; sister, Catherine (Lowell) Collins. Jackie grew up in IOCO (Port Moody) where her parents owned Pleasantside Grocery Store for almost 50 years - now a historic landmark. Jackie and Stu were married in 1957. They lived in Richmond, where they raised four children, before moving to Oliver in 1974. They owned and operated a prosperous 63-acre vegetable farm. They moved to Penticton in 1987, where Stu worked at Moduline and Jackie ran a market garden. Her tomatoes were her signature, and in high demand for their robust size and delicious flavor. She often sold out, with customers left waiting for a new crop and they did! Jackie and Stu enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, going for long walks, ballroom dancing, and being active in their church. Jackie will be remembered for her green thumb, tireless hard work - both in and out of her home and her willingness to help others. Jackie’s now reunited with Stu, her loving husband, for a well-deserved rest from her many years of hard work. She will be missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
