Penticton Council antes up $7K for bylaw on Sundays

Penticton bylaw officers are no longer taking any days off.

Council voted Tuesday to approve a $7,000 expense to have officers work Sundays beginning next week through September.

The initiative was launched by Mayor John Vassilaki.

“The reason I brought it forward is because crime or break-ins or all those bad things that happen don’t stop because it’s Sunday,” he said.
