Moroziuk announces his retirement
Long-time employee and general manager of infrastructure for the City of Penticton, Mitch Moroziuk officially announced his retirement effective January 2021.
Moroziuk has played a key role at City Hall since starting in 2003.
“Mitch’s steady and thorough approach to overseeing the City’s infrastructure services, projects and people is greatly appreciated and respected,” said Penticton’s chief administrative officer Donny van Dyk. “On behalf of all city staff, it’s been a tremendous pleasure working with Mitch.”
He will be succeeded by former City of Penticton employee and recent chief administrative officer for the City of Port Coquitlam, Kristen Dixon.
From 2005 to 2010, Dixon held the role of assistant city engineer for the City of Penticton, after which she was appointed to the position of streets and capital projects manager for the City of Kamloops, followed by director of engineering and public works for the City of Port Coquitlam and most recently, chief administrative officer for the City of Port Coquitlam. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta and a Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia.
"Our CAO has briefed council on these forthcoming leadership changes,” said Penticton Mayor, John Vassilaki. “We thank Mr. Moroziuk for his nearly two decades of service and commitment to Penticton and look forward to working with Ms. Dixon in January.”
