APOLZER, John Kenneth

March 11, 1929 – July 28, 2021 John Kenneth Apolzer passed away peacefully with his devoted wife by his side at the Penticton Regional Hospital. He will be sadly missed by Loraine and their four children; Debbie DeLeeuw (Brent), Kari Zering (Gord), Gary Apolzer (Cindy) and Jo-Ann Apolzer (Gord Gill) along with eight grandchildren; Chad DeLeeuw (Amelia), Cam DeLeeuw (Tracey), Chelsey Mahaffy (Ryan), Blake Apolzer (Avalon), Brianna Grimm (Dylan), Brittany Henderson (Johnny), Cally Zering and Brandon Apolzer-Gill. Also leaving behind, 12 great-grandchildren. After retiring in 1984 as an Electrical Foreman serving 37 years with the City of Penticton, John and Loraine enjoyed many trips down South in their motorhome visiting casinos and having good times socializing. These trips meant a lot to Johnny. John always took great pride in his family, home and maintaining a beautiful yard. He touched many hearts with his love of coaching baseball and fastball and “off to work” he would say every morning on his way to playing pool. Enjoying many hours of strumming his guitar and singing along with family and friends while having picnics at Skaha Lake are things that made him very happy. John will always be remembered for reciting his favorite poem to his family… “A Smile for You”, and for his happy demeanor, wit, and wisdom.

We love you in so many ways

Want to thank you for all you’ve taught us

You made us who we are today

Things always perfect, so fussy about your yard

Will never forget your wittiness, you are such a card Rest easy Dad, you deserve these peaceful days
